Using the giant forest surrounding her village as her playground, Lyn spent her days running around the woods with wild animals, causing trouble. That is, until one day when her entire life changed on a visit to her cousin stationed as a ranger in Lumisade. There, she discovered her latent talent and aptitude and, with the complete support and love of her family, joined the academy in Lumisade. Her creativity drew the attention and praise of all at the school, including the arcane engineering teachers; she was the academy's rising star.
Lyn found herself having the time of her life doing things like discovering a hidden dungeon beneath the school with her spiritmancer friend, crushing hard on an upperclassman, and even stopping the grand schemes of a professor who turned out to be a servant of chaos.
