The constellation of Aries presides over ordeals. His solemn duty is to uphold order with unquestionable power. Some may know him better as the Dark Ram.
The Dark Ram divided his original body into multiple incarnations to fulfill his duty. Those incarnations brought death wherever they went, soon becoming objects of both fear and awe. Yet nothing in this world is without an unexpected turn. One of the incarnations started having doubts about his duty that compelled him to spread destruction.
It wasn't loneliness or compassion that stirred his skepticism, but a boredom more unbearable than death itself. His brothers, the other incarnations, met his words only with silence. With no resolution to his doubts, Aries spent thousands of years alone in the dark, waiting for someone to free him from the shackles of tedium.
The awakening power and presence of the guardian shone upon him like a silver lining. He believed that The Brightest Light could sever him from this mortal coil. But the guardian of humanity refused to take his life. She sensed no hostility in him, and the profound duty of the constellation had long been abandoned. Aries found himself lost in meaning and purpose.
The guardian gave him a piece of advice: to observe humanity—people who blaze their own trail despite being born into this world without a purpose. He followed that advice, and found humanity far more intriguing than he had imagined. He saw the greedy take riches from others, while the impoverished gave away what little they had.
It was by then he earned his title as the Mystic Merchant. Aries wandered lands plagued with strife and poverty, offering aid to the sick and hungry. Though he acted out of curiosity, some saw philanthropy in his deeds, while others came to believe that he had ulterior motives. He denied neither. He simply continued, letting the rumors grow ever more exaggerated.
No one knows when this incarnation's little detour will come to an end. If he ever grows tired of playing the merchant, he will return to the battlefield, for that is his nature. And when that day comes, whose side will he take? That depends on you.
