Life was never a challenge for Biryu. Born into a position of high status and admired by all, shaping the world according to his liking came effortlessly. His naturally adaptable personality and keen intellect were more than enough to get people to do what he wanted. Everything seemed perfect—his status as a member of the imperial family, his close relationship with the future empress, and his wealth of knowledge and talent. However, if these things alone were enough to fulfill him, he never would have dared to leave it all behind.
What made Biryu decide that enough was enough? Biryu's suspicions had been growing as the housekeepers began to disappear one by one, and everything changed when he laid eyes upon the dark shadow lurking inside of his now drastically changed friend. The vast palace was engulfed by silent screams with no escape from the darkness that had encroached. Biryu, the cowering flower bud that had yet to bloom, found himself with only two choices. He could turn a blind eye to the contradictions he was faced with and continue living as before, or he could rise up against it and become the torchbearer of destruction that would burn everything to ashes. And of course, the path he chose is clear, for he stands before us now.
After making his choice, Biryu's life turned into a series of unpredictable twists and turns. Events that would have been unthinkable for a member of the imperial family occurred one after another. He fled for three days without sleep to avoid waves of assassins relentlessly sent by the empress. Then, rescued by an ascetic who was on the verge of transcendence, he dedicated himself as a disciple and quickly rose to the position of elect. The empress was no longer able to stop him, but her threats were of little concern to Biryu at this point.
Some might say that Biryu lost everything after turning his back on the golden palace, but he would dismiss such thoughts with a smirk, patiently waiting for the right moment to truly walk away. Where will his footsteps take him? To a pile of ashes, or to a lotus finally reaching full bloom? Where will his quest of pioneering lead him? Watch closely, for it's sure to be a captivating journey.
